The idea joining a carpeter course was born while having an afterwork beer with an old friend Alex Suzuki, who has already applied to that course. That said it was kind of a no-brainer to apply as well. I booked one of the open seats for toe Carpenter 1-2-3 course, a full day course, to get used to woodworking at ‘Schreinerei Eltschinger’ in Rheinfelden/Switzerland.
The course itself consists to the following parts:
Part 1 teaches project based usage of material and machines.
- Timber products
- Massive wood
- Hand workshop tools
- Power tools
- Somacube
- Transport box
Part 2 consists of the practical use of hand workshop tools.
- Gluing plywood
- Tablesaws
- Router and router jigs
- Rotarysander and sandpaper
- Fixtures
Part 3 uses the content of part 1 and 2 while appying the learned.
- Planning a small drawer box
- Creating the list of materials
- Cutting the material
- Connecting the pieces
- Sanding
