Bedside Table made out of Swiss pine wood

Bedside Table made out of Swiss pine wood

A space saving bedside table for an alarm clock or smart phone close to the bed. Inspired of our last vacation in South Tyrol it should be build out of the swiss pine wood I have still in stock.

The bedside table should look similar to the sketch I created with Sketchup

Even though I bought the wood planed on Ricardo.ch is was deforming a bit already so that I had to run it through my thicknesser. The following picture shows the board on the jig I build to plane a board in a thicknesser. More about that particular jig can be found in the upcoming jig category on the future.

Based on the measures from the Sketchup model I cut the necessary pieces in my circular saw. As I did on my previously built kitch shelf, I used the biscuit jointer to joint the boards together. Those joints really help to glue the pieces properly together.

Finally I assembed the boards using the biscuits.

After assemply I sanded with grit 180 followed by 240. I did not add oil of wax finish. I added a 6mm radius to the corners of the table That’s how it finally looks.
