After I tried a couple of helpers to use a hand operated circular saw in a type of jig to cur small pieces of wood, I decided to build a cross-cut-sled, finally. Since I had an INCRA Build-It Starterkit around, which I ordered from Dieter Schmidt Feine Werkzeuge,

I used that and an additional Build-It small build it panel as well as two miter sliders to build my sled. Of course you can do that with scrap wood as you can see in a lot of youtube videos.
